Dragging is a glazing technique using a dry brush which is dragged through the glaze to give thin lines of colour. This process can be repeated to give depth of colour.
Walls look great dragged and it is very popular on panelled doors and architrave, often with highlighting which is applied with a small brush once the surface is dry.
To protect this finish one or two coats of a dead flat varnish are usually required. Wax is also a good material to seal and protect.
